Biography and expertise

Biography

Sharen teaches into a number of programs in the Faculty of Business, Law & Arts and is a key member of the Faculty's Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team. This WIL program teaches a range of employability skills, embedded throughout the curriculum and focusing on career development and organisational behaviour theories. The student's WIL experience culminates in a supported capstone industry placement.

Research

Her research interests focus on facilitating collaboration and cooperation between students and employers, and the factors that facilitate or mitigate success. Other interests include educational design and the scholarship of teaching. Sharen is currently a member of a cross-disciplinary, co-operative enquiry research group that is exploring academic identity and approaches to teaching and student engagement in the context of curriculum reform.

Community Engagement

A feature of Sharen's work is industry and community engagement, liaising with stakeholders regarding their capacity to facilitate meaningful learning experiences for students.
