Biography and expertise

Biography

Currently a scholar in residence at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. He holds a PhD in political geography and policy studies attained through School of Business and Tourism at Southern Cross University. Rod's primary research focus is towards consumer-driven “alternative” tourism and lifestyle accommodations, their associated contributions and impacts on local communities.

Community engagement

Consulting to private and government investment partners on greenfield nature/community-based tourism projects in SE Asia - Lao PDR, Thailand & Vietnam.

Undergraduate and masters programs in tourism, hospitality, events, and business management.
