Biography

Professor Nan Bahr was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students) and Dean of Education at Southern Cross University, and currently holds Adjunct Professor status at Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology. As a parallel career, she has served in the Australian Defence Force for 37 years with key positions for training, training development, and leadership in the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police.

Research

Professor Nan Bahr has a background as a classroom teacher, and has led, taught, researched, published and mentored in the field of teacher education for more than 20 years. She has undergraduate qualifications in the fields of biology, psychology, and music and postgraduate qualifications in education and educational psychology. Professor Bahr is extensively published with national and international impact on topics related to teacher education, responsive education for adolescents, and higher education. Professor Bahr maintains close school partnerships, leading significant projects for mentoring beginning teachers, and adolescent engagement.
