Biography

Luke McCarney is a registered osteopath, teaching scholar and academic for the Osteoapthy discipline at Southern Cross University.

Research

Luke completed his doctoral studies at RMIT University, with a special interest and focus in musculoskeletal health. For his doctorate, Luke investigated the relationship between muscle stiffness and pain using myotonometry, and is developing research projects at Southern Cross University that build from his PhD.

Teaching

Luke's special interests are anatomy and biomechanics. Currently, he is leading Osteopathic Science 1 and Osteopathic Science 2 units, which begin to develop knowledge in functional anatomy that will be used in clinical practice.
