Biography
Lisa holds a PhD from the Faculty of Education, Southern Cross University, as well as a MA in Education (Columbia University) and a MA in Social Ecology (University of Western Sydney). She works as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, where she teachers environmental education, interdisciplinary education, and philosophies of education, and is a member of the leadership team of the Sustainability, Environmental, and Arts Education (SEAE) Research Centre. Lisa is a skilled environmental educator with over 30 years’ experience in developing and facilitating educational experiences for children, young people, and adults, having worked in both public and independent schools in three different countries.

Lisa's work contributes to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals
Research
Lisa’s PhD research focused on the lived experiences of women environmentalists. Based on a material feminist theoretical framework, this research enacted a collective biography methodology to explore how environmental agency can be understood and mediated. Lisa’s current research interests include material feminist and eco-feminist theory and praxis, intra-connective education, environmental/sustainability teacher training, and teacher wellbeing.
Community engagement
Community environmental education is also a particular passion, with Lisa having led the not-for-profit Centre for Ecological Learning (CEL) for the last fourteen years. She is currently the national president of the Australian Association for Environmental Education (AAEE).
