Biography and expertise

Biography

Dave Ellis is an international researcher in the Faculty of Education with an interest in teacher professional learning, and contextualised approaches to education such as Design and Technology, STEM and international social impact projects. Dave has had 20 years teaching experience in schools. He has worked on projects in Asia and the Pacific with over 16 years in Universities in teaching and leadership roles.

Research

Dave's PhD research is in teacher professional learning. He also researches in the technology education and interdisciplinary education (STEM/STEAM/Maker).

Community engagement

Dave is actively involved in working in partnership with schools to develop teacher expertise. He is a longstanding member of the national Design and Technology Teacher Association (DATTA) council and a former executive member of the NSW Institute of Technology Education.

Supervision

Dave is able to co-supervise Masters and Honours students in research related to teacher professional learning, technology, and curriculum.

Teaching

Dave teaches across a number of Faculty of Education units

Other

Dave also works as an international consultant in Asia and the Pacific.
