Biography

Dr. Christina Samios has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Queensland and is a registered psychologist. She worked as Assistant Professor of Psychology at Bond University for a decade specialising in teaching statistics for psychology. She joined Southern Cross University in 2019 and is the Gold Coast Campus Lead and Psychology Honours Course Coordinator.

Research

Dr. Samios’ research focuses on health and wellbeing in individuals and couples by studying factors, such as savouring and self-compassion, which promote wellbeing. She is interested in meaning making in times of stress and implications for meaning in life. She also studies the cultural life script as a meaning framework.

Supervision

Dr. Samios can supervise Psychology Honours, Master of Clinical Psychology, and PhD projects in her areas of expertise and in the fields of Health Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Interpersonal Relationships.
