Abstract

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning SoTL academic development higher Education
Southern Cross University (SCU) has undertaken a strategic initiative to embed the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) into institutional practice, aligning with national regulatory standards and internal academic development goals. This case study outlines the development of a comprehensive SoTL Framework, its integration into university systems, and its role in enhancing academic recognition and student outcomes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for scholarship. Through categorisation of SoTL activities, policy reform, and digital infrastructure adaptation, SCU has created a sustainable model for supporting and evidencing scholarly teaching. The paper discusses implementation challenges, stakeholder engagement, and future directions for institutional scholarship.
