Biography

Dr Elizabeth (Liz) Goode is a Teaching Scholar in the Academic Portfolio Office at Southern Cross University. She specialises in the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT), immersive block learning, enabling education, and student success. She was listed as one of 25 leading higher education researchers in Australia across 2020-2024 in the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice (Crawford et al., 2025).

Liz is lead editor of Southern Cross University’s Scholarship of Learning and Teaching Paper Series. She also co-leads the University's SoLT Community of Practice, co-leads the National Association of Enabling Educators of Australia (NAEEA) Enabling Assessment Special Interest Group, and is co-deputy chair of the International Block and Intensive Learning and Teaching Association (IBILTA). Liz has designed and delivered professional learning for University faculties, colleges, and domestic and international partners on SoLT, immersive block learning, GenAI, and peer engaged learning.

Liz’s work is grounded in enabling pedagogy, critical and transition pedagogies, and a commitment to inclusive, evidence-informed teaching that supports confidence, learning and success among diverse student cohorts. Her contributions have been recognised through institutional, national and international awards for pedagogical research, curriculum innovation, outstanding teaching, and contributions to student learning.
