As financial institutions encounter growing demand to digitize while adhering to stringent regulatory compliance, comprehending the determinants of digital technology readiness (DTR) in this industry is essential. This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) to determine, categorize and synthesize the primary dimensions that influence DTR in the financial sector, utilizing 78 peer-reviewed journal articles. The results indicate that organizational, technical, human, and environmental elements collectively influence an institution's ability to adopt and integrate digital technology. Frequent appearances factors, including resource readiness, IT infrastructure, and leadership support are pivotal to the success of transformation, whereas elements like as cultural preparation, cybersecurity, and legal frameworks function as context-specific facilitators or impediments. The study advances the area by providing a DTR approach tailored to the industry and practical advice for legislators and financial institutions on how to prioritize investments, simplify laws, and improve digital readiness.
