Abstract
This presentation critically examines student and academic perspectives on implementing an immersive block model within the Faculty of Education at a regional Australian university. Using a student engagement framework, we analyse success and satisfaction data alongside qualitative insights from student focus groups and academic autoethnographies. Findings reveal opportunities and tensions in designing success into curriculum and pedagogy, highlighting strategies for fostering engagement, flexibility and belonging in digital and face-to-face spaces. Delegates will gain actionable principles for embedding success from the ground up and reflect on the evolving role of educators in meeting diverse student preferences in contemporary higher education.
