Abstract

With advances in technology pushed forward by the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice of physiotherapy has also evolved. Physiotherapists are mobile professionals who can migrate to any country and continue practising. Whilst the process for physiotherapists moving to another country and applying for registration is regulated in most cases, the rules are less clear for services provided in online consultations and treatment. The presenters in this seminar will unravel some of the issues related to physiotherapists seeing patients online who are based in a different country and patients who are moving abroad. It will also involve physiotherapists moving abroad and continuously providing services to their patients/clients back home, and the complex issue of working with sports teams in an international setting. The seminar will be built around a few case studies. Objectives: Explore the challenges related to international registration of physiotherapists, Understand issues related to the regulation and challenges of international digital practice, Explore obstacles physiotherapists supporting international sporting events face.
