Abstract
Background: Supervision is integral to the professional development & support of physiotherapists, which may improve workforce attrition, yet the factors influencing the effectiveness of their supervision are not well understood.
Aims: To identify the supervision models that physiotherapists engage in, to identify the barriers and facilitators, and to propose best practice recommendations based on a thematic synthesis of available literature.
