Biography
Scott is a Senior Lecturer in Finance with the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts, Southern Cross University (SCU).

Scott's work contributes to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals
Research
Scott’s research examines the behavioural drivers of financial advice seeking, financial decision making, responsible investing, and financial wellbeing, with a particular focus on financial abuse in intimate partner relationships. He has published in leading journals including the Journal of Consumer Affairs, Australian Journal of Management, and Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment, and has won numerous competitive research grants. His recent work maps pathways between trust, anxiety, and financial help seeking, and assesses financial wellbeing outcomes for financial abuse victims and survivors to inform prevention and support strategies.
Community engagement
Scott works closely with local financial services firms and contributes to the Faculty's Accounting and Finance Curriculum Advisory Group. He also consults with ASIC, The Treasury, and Financial Adviser Standards (FAS).
Supervision
Scott has successfully supervised seven HDR candidates and two Honours students to completion.
Teaching
Scott is SCU's Undergraduate Business Course Coordinator and Academic Lead in Financial Services. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate subjects including investments, finance, and behavioural finance.
Other
Scott is a member of AFAANZ, FAAA, and FPAF, and previously worked as a client advisor and wealth manager in the stockbroking industry.
