Biography

Patrick has been a lecturer with the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts, Southern Cross University (SCU) since 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Human Movement Science from SCU, a Masters of Science (Sport Management) from UMASS, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Sport Management from SCU.

Teaching

Patrick has taught a range of units as part of the Management discipline. Examples include 'Managing Organisations' in the Bachelor of Business program and 'Organisational Behaviour' in the MBA. His focus as an educator is on assessment design and students' proactive recipience of assessment feedback. In 2022 Patrick received the Vice Chancelor's award for Outstanding Teaching.

Research

Patrick's PhD examined the psychological motives of competitive Sport Tourists. His recent research activities have contributed to several Scholarship of Learning and Teaching projects. They include the investigation of audio assessment feedback on student satisfaction and the use of Teaching Presence as a framework for course and teaching evaluation.

University Service

Patrick has held a number of senior service Faculty positions including MBA Director (20018-2021). He is currently the Faculty's Academic Integrity Officer, a position he has held since 2022.
