Biography

Dr Nehemia Sugianto is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University. Before joining Southern Cross University, he worked as a Research Fellow at Griffith University and gained teaching experience at Australian Catholic University and Southern Cross University. His research interests span the application of artificial intelligence across healthcare, tourism, public sentiment, waste management, and sustainability. He is a member of Southern Cross University’s ZeroWaste Research Cluster.

Research

Dr Sugianto’s research focuses on applied computing and the interdisciplinary use of artificial intelligence. His areas of interest include deep learning, machine learning, time-series modelling, generative AI, predictive analytics, and responsible AI. He has contributed to interdisciplinary projects involving public health, time-series forecasting, tourism and community perceptions and sentiment analysis, health monitoring and drone-based remote inspection. His research is particularly concerned with the practical and responsible application of computational methods to real-world problems.

Dr Sugianto is a member and Certified Professional of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
