Biography

Dr Lewes Peddell is a lecturer in mathematics and music education. He has held leadership positions in higher education sectors in Australia and the USA, as well as in K-12 schools in Queensland.

Research

Dr Peddell is establishing a national research program focused on teaching improvement in K12 school settings through well-being, communities of practice, organisational structures, and social network analysis.

Community engagement

Dr Peddell is a member of TeachLab - an SCU Faculty of Education research group working in partnership with learning organisations across Australia. These partnerships develop from collaborative and consultative processes that seek to transform how we ‘do’ education.

Supervision

Dr Peddell is available to be the Principal Supervisor for PhD, EdD, or BEd(Hons) students in a wide range of areas focused on mathematics education and teaching improvement in K-12 settings. Topics extend beyond those indicated above, with current students also focusing on digital learning environments, professional learning and leading project-based learning.

Teaching

Dr Peddell teaches in the Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching units in the areas of primary mathematics education and second music education. He draws on his experiences in both these areas in over 20-years of K-12 teaching.
