Biography

Dr Yu (Jack) Qin is Academic Coordinator at The Hotel School, Southern Cross University. He has 25 years’ experience in higher education across Australia and China. His work bridges hospitality strategy, industry practice and student-focused teaching.

Research

Jack’s research focuses on strategic management and organisational change in hospitality, including hotel chain diffusion, institutional logics and leadership. He has published widely, with recent work featured in A and A* ranked journals on the Australian Business Deans Council.

Teaching

Jack teaches and coordinates postgraduate units in research methods, business strategy and hospitality management. He is known for interactive, practice-informed learning design and consistently high student satisfaction. He has developed multiple strategy/service courses and supports assessment innovation, including the responsible use of GenAI in teaching and learning.
