Abstract
This workshop showcases research on the use of video-based Statement of Advice (SOA) assessments in financial services education. Drawing on a study with 50 undergraduate students, it highlights how video SOAs not only strengthen advisory knowledge, communication, and presentation skills but also enhance authenticity and engagement compared to traditional written tasks. Importantly, the approach demonstrates resilience against GenAI misuse, offering a model for assessment design that validates professional competency while fostering reflective practice, critical thinking, and deep learning in digital learning environments.
