Over a period of four years (2021-2024), those who teach in flexible/non-traditional schools shared with us their highs and lows of teaching, their impressions and experiences, and their career aspirations. The teachers, school leaders, youth workers, social workers, teacher aides, and other staff who work to provide flexible learning opportunities for young people who have disengaged with learning, and are disenfranchised with mainstream schooling, are the focus of this Australian Government funded research 1. Their stories are the focus of this report.
