Abstract
As researchers and experts in education, education technologies, health and physical activity, psychology, media and communication, we call for decisions about screen use in schools to be guided by current robust empirical evidence about effective uses of screens for learning. This should be conducted alongside commitment to meaningful consultation with children, educators, and school leaders and an understanding of the diverse ways digital technologies support learning, participation, accessibility, and inclusion; as well as prioritisation of robust assessment of the quality of education technologies and consideration of the curriculum requirements.
