Learning Outcomes and Giving Instructions - A clear understanding of what, how and why for teachers and the students in the ESL Classroom

This is a refresher PD for our ELP teachers on learning objectives and giving clear instructions. Although these are the fundamentals of classroom teaching, they can be neglected over the years as the teachers form their own teaching styles and habits. Recent student comments have indicated that the students want clearer learning objectives in their learning activities to understand, why they are doing certain activities. Through my formative observations of the teachers, I also felt that these two areas needed a refresher to improve the quality of the lesson delivery. This PD was delivered after the regular teacher meeting on June 27th, 20204. The slides and the recording are uploaded on the ELP-CPD (Professional Learning)Site on Blackboard. All teachers who participated have been issued a certificate for their CPD record.
