Abstract
A new, immersive teaching model emphasises timely, supportive assessment feedback for students. Prior research on assessment feedback suggests that students prefer audio feedback over written feedback due to the more personal nature of audio feedback. However, the length of audio feedback has significantly varied in this research. The current study compared perceptions of audio feedback that was less than 3 minutes with written feedback in the assignments of 67 university students. Descriptive statistics showed a clear preference for audio feedback, and comments from students suggested this was due to its more personal nature. One statistically significant result (p < .05) indicated that students believed the marker had put more time into the audio feedback than the written feedback. These results are discussed in the context of improving student satisfaction with their education and adopting audio feedback as a more efficient feedback method.
