Abstract
Live Music Score consisting of four original Tracks and 20 arranged excerpts of other music for theatre.
This work is the updated live Soundtrack to the acclaimed original Theatre Production by NORPA “Dreamland” in 2019.The soundtrack to “Dreamland” is a series of music cues performed live by an instrumental ensemble that perform both as theatrical characters and musicians performing the Soundtrack onstage. The site specific theatre work explores themes relating to culture, community and place making in white Australian Regional Culture.
Dreamland is a commissioned theatre work created by NORPA using stories collected from the indigenous and nonindigenous history of the Northern Rivers. Dreamland received 30k funding as part of Arts NSW If these Halls could Talk Program. It was first performed in 2016 at Eureka Hall and then reworked to include a new script and music score in 2019 at Bangalow Memorial Hall. The 2019 performance was reworked to include new original musical works and an expanded music ensemble.
