Abstract
Here we provide a reply to the discussion by Santamaria et al. (2023) in response to our original research article (Pahuja and Narayan, 2023). In this Discussion paper we provide justification of our published research where we compared two cortisol enzyme immunoassays (EIAs), the Arbor Assay cortisol kit and the physiologically validated R4866 cortisol assay in koalas (Pahuja and Narayan, 2023). Our intent is to provide a balanced discussion based on scientific literature without presenting any subjective claims or critique towards Santamaria's research.
