Abstract
We would like to thank Dr. Badawi for her recent comments on our article. She raises several interesting points. Women who sought help for urinary incontinence (UI) were found to consult a diverse array of medical, allied, and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practitioners, highlighting the pluralistic nature of women's approach to health care. Although this is the first nationally representative study to report the high use of CAM among women with UI, prior research has shown that CAM use is commonplace for many women's health conditions, despite the lack of high-quality evidence.
