Abstract
The Australian health care system is under increasing strain from the growing burden of chronic illness and an ageing population. This project investigated how people integrate and manage their own health
and health care services. Health care services are estimated to contribute about 20% to our overall health. The current project focused on the experiences of patients who use both mainstream medical services and CM in their health care. The aim was to find out what patients want from their health care services and how they integrate and manage complementary and conventional medical services.
