The article discusses the need for a register of practitioners of complementary medicine to be prepared by 2010, in order for public safety and protection. The government has highlighted the need for statutory regulation of naturopaths and Western herbalists. Prof Stephen P Myers considers that occupational regulation is about public safety and outlines a new register for CM professions.
