Abstract
“Ready or not, here I come!” – a familiar call from the timeless game of hide-and-seek, where players hide, hoping they’re out of sight, while one seeks them out, often catching those who were not fully prepared. Originating centuries ago, as a game played across cultures, hide-and-seek teaches lessons in anticipation, readiness, and adaptability. This call of “ready or not” resonates with the speech-language pathology (SLP) field today, as we face the imperative to anticipate, to be ready, and to adapt for a rapidly changing professional practice, research, and technological landscape.
