Introduction Official health reports most often link women’s health to their reproductive functions and domestic roles, but health is much broader. Health services generally focus on early detection and treatment of disease, however we need to think more about promoting wellness in women. This is because women’s health is inextricably linked with social conditions in society. Indeed social conditions are the most powerful influences inhibiting or promoting the achievement of health by women in New Zealand.
