Abstract

Alternative and Complementary Medicine

Randomised, doubleblind, placebo-controlled trial to assess the efficacy of oral yamabushitake administration in subjects with mild cognitive impairment was performed by investigators from the Hokuto Corporation and the Isogo Central and Neurosurgical Hospital.Ingestion of yamabushitake mushrooms is found to be effective in improving mild cognitive impairment without exhibiting adverse effects and that these mushrooms may prove to be a useful food for the prevention of dementia.
