Over the last 15 years numerous political drivers have paved the way for the development of new and innovative models of practice in cardiac care. these were discussed in the first article of this two-part series. Part one introduced and described the elements of inspection, palpation and percussion in relation to per forming cardiac assessment. this paper offers practitioners an opportunity to develop and augment their knowledge of cardiac auscultation. It suggests and introduces a systematic model that may be used in clinical practice.
