Isokinetic arm and leg strength of individuals with Down syndrome, with mental retardation without Down syndrome, and sedentary adults with no disabilities were examined to determine if muscle strengthening exercises should be included in preparation for sporting activities. Results indicate that these exercises are needed, especially for participants with Down syndrome.
