Abstract

Numerous studies show that insecticides and fungicides are harmful to the health of bees, influencing their longevity and colony maintenance. This systematic review aimed to gather scientific articles investigating the effects of the insecticide thiamethoxam (TMX) and the fungicide difenoconazole (DFC) on the organism A. mellifera. We used the Science Direct, Scholar Google, Scopus, Springer Link and Capes Periodic databases, keywords and Boolean operators, obtaining 11 articles that showed the information needed about A. mellifera and TMX or DFC, with routes of contamination by ingestion, contact, contaminated surface or injection. Behavioral, morphological, physiological, genetic and survival effects were evaluated, with commercial products or pure active ingredients, in the field (18%) and laboratory (82%) experiments. The results of most studies suggest that TMX and DFC, in sublethal doses, can affect the health of bees, altering their cognitive system, locomotion, cellular respiration and metabolism, gradually affecting the maintenance of the colony.
