This research explored the critical factors for the strategic adoption of Building Information Modelling by Malaysian ECS firms.
Following a detailed literature review, four research propositions were developed, based on the research gaps, for testing through the collection and analyses of qualitative and quantitative data generated by a focus group and a questionnaire survey.
The research findings pointed to the need for the Malaysian Government and the sector to adopt and implement several policy measures including the establishment of a dedicated BIM promotion agency. The findings also led to new theory development and for recommendations on further research.
