Abstract
Seed and seeding ecology was investigated in a secondary subtropical rainforest in north-east New South Wales, in order to identify factors which limit regeneration at the site, and to investigate.the roles played by individual life-history phases. Emphasis was placed on temporal and spatial patterns in rainforest regeneration. Seed rain, seedling emergence in the field and seedling emergence from the soil seed bank were measured on a community basis concurrently at the same site. Seedling survival was recorded for a limited range of species.
