Abstract
This participatory action research aimed to explore the impact of a professional community of practice on the social construction of nurse educator identities and practice. National and international literature has identified that nurses struggle to transition to educator roles and authenticate their professional identities. Where Australian health strategy and policy has not addressed these issues, a local grassroots approach provided an opportunity for communicative action and knowledge generation. Through this process and a clearer perception of their efficacy as educators, the nurse educator participants will help to deliver better health outcomes in their region of Australia.
