This research evaluates a human resource development intervention to determine the impact of a women’s development program. There were gaps in determining whether worth, strength and purpose taught in the Program, are a means of improving women’s situation in Australia. In total 500 participants commenced the Program, 346 completed at least one survey. The matched sample comprised 161 participants, 53 were interviewed and six community organisations provided third-party observations using a mixed methods approach. The findings showed that self-esteem, emotional intelligence, purpose and mobilisation significantly increased after the Program including women applying for jobs and enrolling in training or university, starting their own business as well as participating in women’s networks.
