The data provides atmospheric dimethylsulfide (DMS) surface concentrations at Heron Island (23.44°S, 151.91°E) on the southern Great Barrier Reef during 6-20 March 2012, and 18 July - 5 August 2013. The data allows a comparison of atmospheric DMS during the late summer wet season of 2012 and the mid winter dry season of 2013.
Each seasonal atmospheric DMS dataset has accompanying automatic weather station (AWS) meteorological data as well as tidal data, AWS and tidal data is also included with the DMS datasets.
The data was collected using a gas chromatograph fitted with a pulsed flame photometric detector (GC-PFPD). This instrumentation was controlled by an auto-sampler programmed to collect samples at a 30 minute frequency.
Data Processing: The data has been processed using Microsoft Excel.
