Abstract
The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a series of tests focused on basic skills that are administered annually to Australian students. An interesting research question for us is that what factors contribute to a student's NAPLAN score. This paper presents some findings from the NAPLAN data from the data in regard to the research question. However, the contribution that we want to make in this paper is not just the findings of the study but also the process to discover the findings. Our discussion focuses on the method and data visualization techniques used to gain an insight to the NAPLAN data.
