Abstract
This paper explores the views of key informants in the Byron Shire of Australia on the positive and negative impacts of Airbnb on the local community, as well as possible solutions to the issues raised by Airbnb. Data collection involved interviews with 22 key informants in the Shire. Findings show that while all participants acknowledged up to five positive impacts, they were concerned about eight negative impacts of Airbnb. Participants proposed nine possible solutions to the problems.
