Abstract
This paper extends the initial work of Mair and Lockstone-Binney (2014) in analysing data collected from the 2013 CAUTHE Conference Survey administered to members and former attendees of the CAUTHE Conference. Furthermore, with the survey subsequently administered to the membership of CAUTHE's kindred associations, the analysis allows for a comparative insight into the motivations of delegates attending the SMAANZ and ANZALS conferences relative to the CAUTHE Conference. Non-parametric analysis revealed significant associations between conference attendee motivations based on gender, level of current conference attendance, level of conference funding support available and conference attended (CAUTHE versus SMAANZ/ANZALS). Further analysis of the CAUTHE attendee responses also revealed differences in the associated motivations of CAUTHE members compared to non-members. Overall, these findings suggest there is a diverse range of motivations driving attendance to the CAUTHE Conference, and kindred association conferences more broadly.
