In 2008 the academic journal ‘Environmental Education Research’ commissioned a Special Issue about children’s literature, with a focus on its role in experiencing environment and place. The special issue will be published as Volume 3 & 4 in 2010 which forms the focus of this proposed symposium. We specifically deal with the conceptual, methodological, pedagogical, disciplinary and cultural dynamics inherent in inciting experience of environment and place through children’s literature. This 120 minute session will be highly interactive where the researchers and audience are recognized as equally important to the research being presented.
