Abstract
This chapter presents a case study about an Australian award-winning mentoring programme, the Mentoring for Effective Teaching (MET) programme. The research embedded within the MET programme aims to advance the various components of the programme. The MET programme, which has undergone continuous development, has had an impact nationally and internationally. Ongoing mentor support, sharing of teaching practices and resources with collaborative problem solving were actions claimed to further form and sustain the relationship. The model and related information were then incorporated into future MET sessions. The vision for the MET programme is to empower classroom teachers, in their roles as mentors and co-educators, to provide mentees with insightful learning experiences when they enter schools. Various staff from Philippine universities became MET facilitators in a programme conducted at the University of the East in January 2015. Evaluative responses indicated that many of the participants will implement the MET programme in their own educational contexts.
