Abstract
This study, with its practical implications, investigates the impacts of residents' perceived tourism responsibility on their quality of life and hence support for responsible tourism development in Hue City, Vietnam. The quantitative design obtained 201 valid responses from residents of Hue City. Structural equation modeling with SmartPLS (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. The findings show that the subjective assessment of a resident's quality of life is a mediated variable in the relationship between perceived benefits from responsible tourism and support for responsible tourism development. These practical findings provide theoretical implications for future research, managerial implications for local exploitation, and direction for responsible tourism development.
