Abstract
This chapter presents a scoping review exploring how emotional intelligence (EI) is integrated into de-escalation training for mental health nurses within acute mental health settings. The review seeks to identify the presence and significance of EI capabilities in training programmes, examining how aspects of it are highlighted and used. Furthermore, this chapter aims to investigate how mental health nurses apply these EI competencies to manage challenging situations and create supportive, therapeutic environments.
