Abstract
We question the rationale of Western conceptions of design and design theory. We propose design as a basis for thinking in ways that are traditionally set apart as philosophy in this pervasive concept of design. We propose that design fits with First Nations People’s worldviews and Indigenous Knowledge Systems, because our design images and actions are a doing that explains beyond human-centred philosophy. We propose this design path as a heritage trail alive with the intelligence of Country. In our practice, we share this approach to open-up perceptions past the divisive routines established by colonialism to signpost our repositioning of design informed by Indigenous Knowledge.
