Abstract
Human diseases change according to the conditions in which people live. With the advent of the industrial and technological revolutions have come ailments associated with use and overuse of modern technologies. This ranges from injuries from weapons of war to “Facebook depression,” “texter's fingers,” and “screen dermatitis” and eye problems from overuse of small screens. Technology-induced pathology is not yet recognized as a standard category of modern lifestyle-related disease, but is likely to increase in relevance as societies advance further into the age of the Anthropocene.
