Abstract
This chapter is the second of three chapters in this book that discuss the HEAL project’s work with the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in 2021. This chapter describes the activities of a group of undergraduate students undertaking an industry placement, known as Work Integrated Learning (WIL), to support the design artefacts that needed to be created, including those for the PICU Marketplace data gathering. The project also evaluated whether the students who took part in this industry placement project had expanded their professional identity to consider working as a designer in healthcare as a potential future career aspiration.
