Abstract
Allied health is a term used to describe a wide range of health professions which provide care alongside medicine and nursing. This chapter defines allied health before describing key elements of university-delivered allied health education. Key teaching and learning approaches are discussed in addition to the regulatory processes that exist to ensure allied health graduates are competent for practice. The final stages of the chapter explore emerging education and practice trends and how these will shape future allied health education.
